This proverb illustrates that the identity, power, and essence of each entity are defined by what they possess or embody. A king's identity is defined by his kingdom, a young man's (or mature man's) status and honor are often associated with his wife (in a cultural context where marriage signifies adulthood and responsibility), and God's identity is by His divinity. It signifies that each entity's existence and value are tied to its core attributes or possessions.
