ይህ ምሳሌ አንድ ሰው የራሱን ፍላጎት ወይም ጥቅም ብቻ ሳይሆን የሌላውን ሰው (የገዢውን) ፍላጎትና ሁኔታ ከግምት ውስጥ ማስገባት እንዳለበት ያሳያል። በተለይ በድርድር ወይም በንግድ ላይ የሌላውን ወገን ሁኔታ መረዳት ለስኬት ወሳኝ መሆኑን ይገልጻል።
