በደንባራ በቅሎ ቃጭል ተጨምሮ

This proverb describes a situation where an already problematic or undesirable thing is made worse, or an additional burden/ornament is added to something that is already deficient. The hunchbacked mule is already flawed, and adding a bell doesn't fix its underlying problem and might even draw more attention to its deficiency. It signifies adding insult to injury or making a bad situation more conspicuous.

ይህ ምሳሌ ቀድሞውንም ችግር ወይም ጉድለት ባለበት ነገር ላይ ተጨማሪ ችግር ወይም የማይጠቅም ነገር ሲታከል ይነገራል። ደንባራ በቅሎው (ጉብጥ ያለ በቅሎ) የራሱ ጉድለት ሲኖረው፣ ቃጭል መጨመር ደግሞ ችግሩን አያስተካክለውም ይልቁንም ትኩረትን ወደጉድለቱ ሊስብ ይችላል። ሁኔታው ከመጥፎ ወደባሰ ሲሄድ ወይም ለችግር መፍትሄ ሳይሆን ተጨማሪ ሸክም ሲጨመር ያሳያል።
