ትርጉም

This proverb illustrates the contrasting scales of misfortune experienced by the rich and the poor. The rich have a higher status and more to lose, so their 'fall' is dramatic. The poor, already at the bottom, have little left to lose, so their 'fall' is less dramatic but their hardship is often constant. It speaks to the different impacts of hardship based on social standing.

ይህ ምሳሌ ሀብታሞችና ድሆች የሚያጋጥሟቸውን ችግሮች እና መከራዎች ልዩነት ያሳያል። ሀብታም ሰው ሲወድቅ ብዙ ነገር እንደሚያጣና ከፍተኛ ቦታ እንደነበረው ሲያሳይ፣ ድሃ ሰው ደግሞ ቀድሞውንም በታችኛው ደረጃ ላይ ስለሆነ ብዙም የሚቀረው ነገር እንደሌለ ይገልጻል።
