ይህ ምሳሌ የሚያመለክተው ሴት አንድን ሰው ስትወድ በስሜትና በልቧ እንደሆነ፣ ነገር ግን ሆዷ (ምግብ የመብላት ፍላጎትዋ) በዚያ ሰው ሀብት ወይም ሁኔታ ላይ እንደማይመሠረት ነው። ስሜታዊ ፍቅር ከቁሳዊ ፍላጎት እንደሚለይ ያሳያል። በሌላ አባባል፣ አንዲት ሴት ከምትወደው ጋር ለመኖር ስትወስን የምትወደው ሰው ሀብታም ይሁን ደሃ አትልም።
