ትርጉም

This proverb suggests that something of inherently low quality or undesirable nature (donkey meat, which is not commonly eaten) cannot be elevated or made valuable simply by giving it a prestigious name or context ('a bed' for cooking, usually for choice meats). Its true, poor nature will inevitably result in something worthless ('ash'). It speaks to the unchangeable essence of something.
