ትርጉም

This proverb describes the tactics of cunning people. A cunning person targets the weak and defenseless (like a monkey thrown into a cliff) while avoiding or showing deference to the strong and potentially harmful (like an ox allowed to pass). It illustrates the cunning act of preying on the weak while appeasing or ignoring the powerful.

ትርጉም

ይህ ምሳሌ ተንኮለኛ ሰዎች የሚጠቀሙባቸውን ዘዴዎች ይገልፃል። ተንኮለኛው ሰው ደካማውንና ምንም ሊመልስ የማይችለውን ዝንጀሮ ገደል ውስጥ ሲጥል፣ ጠንካራውንና ጉዳት ሊያደርስበት የሚችለውን በሬ ግን ያሳልፋል። ይህም ማለት ተንኮለኛ ሰው ጉዳት የማያደርሱለትን ወይም በቀላሉ ሊጎዳቸው የሚችለውን ወገን ያጠቃል፣ ነገር ግን አቅም ያላቸውንና ጉዳት ሊያደርሱበት የሚችሉትን ወገኖች ግን ያልፋል። አቅመቢስን መበደልና ኃያልን ማክበር/ማለፍ እንደ ተንኮል ተግባር ያሳያል።
