ይህ ምሳሌ ወርቅ (ሀብት/ገንዘብ) የያዘ ሰው እንዴት ህያውና በራሱ የሚተማመን እንደሚሆን፣ እህል የያዘ (ማለትም የዕለት ጉርሱን ብቻ ያሟላ) ግን እንዴት ደብዛዛና አሰልቺ ሊሆን እንደሚችል ይገልጻል። ወርቅ የቅንጦትና የብልፅግና ምልክት ሲሆን፣ እህል ደግሞ የህልውና ምልክት ነው። ሀብት ሰዎችን ደስተኛና ንቁ ሲያደርግ፣ የዕለት ተዕለት ኑሮ ደግሞ ሰልችቶና ተስፋ አስቆርጦ ሊያቆይ ይችላል።
