This proverb reflects the traditional Amhara societal view where, after marriage, a woman leaves her own family and home to join her husband's family. The husband is considered the woman's foundation and guarantor of security.

ይህ ምሳሌ በባህላዊው የአማራ ህብረተሰብ ውስጥ ሴት ከተጋባች በኋላ የራሷን ቤተሰብ እና አገር ትታ ወደ ባልዋ ቤተሰብ እንደምትቀላቀል ያሳያል። ባል የሴት መሰረት እና ደህንነት ማረጋገጫ ተደርጎ ይወሰዳል።
