This proverb indicates that a woman's hatred, much like a mule developing a bad habit after eating something undesirable, establishes itself quickly and strongly and is difficult to remove. It suggests that once a woman hates something, she takes on an aggressive or unyielding stance. A mule, once it starts a bad habit, is known to be very difficult to break of it. Both a woman's hatred and a mule's habit share the characteristic of being unyielding once formed.

ይህ ምሳሌ የሴት ጥላቻ ልክ እንደ በቅሎ መጥፎ ልማድ በፍጥነትና በጠንካራ ሁኔታ እንደሚመሰረትና ለማስወገድም እንደሚከብድ ያሳያል። አንዲት ሴት የሆነን ነገር ከጠላች፣ ጠበኛ ወይም የማይለወጥ አቋም እንደምትይዝ ያመለክታል። በቅሎ ደግሞ አንድ መጥፎ ልማድ ከጀመረ ለማስወገድ በጣም አስቸጋሪ እንደሆነ ይታወቃል። የሴት ጥላቻ እና የበቅሎ ልማድ በሁለቱም ሁኔታዎች ያለመቀየር ጠባይ አላቸው።
