ቅልና ድንጋይ ተማትቶ ጌታና ሎሌ ተሟግቶ የማይሆን ነው ከቶ

ትርጉም

This proverb shows that the struggle or argument between two unequal or mismatched entities is futile and fruitless. Just as a gourd (light) cannot compete with a stone (hard), a master and a servant (due to their social status) cannot argue as equals, and the servant's position is always difficult.

ትርጉም

ይህ ምሳሌ የሁለት የማይመጣጠኑ ወይም እኩል ያልሆኑ አካላት ትግል ወይም ክርክር ከንቱና ውጤት የለሽ መሆኑን ያሳያል። ቅል (ቀላል) ከድንጋይ (ጠንካራ) ጋር ሊወዳደር እንደማይችል ሁሉ፣ ጌታና ሎሌም (በማህበራዊ ደረጃቸው) በእኩልነት መሟገት እንደማይችሉና የሎሌው ሁኔታ ሁልጊዜም ከባድ እንደሆነ ይገልጻል።
