ድሀ ቅቤ ወዶ ማን ሊሸከም ነዶ

This proverb illustrates the dilemma of the poor: they may desire comforts or luxuries (butter), but they are burdened by the necessities of daily survival (carrying firewood). ይህ ምሳሌ የድሆችን ችግር ያሳያል፡- ምቾት ወይም የቅንጦት ነገር (ቅቤ) ሊፈልጉ ይችላሉ፣ ነገር ግን የዕለት ተዕለት ሕይወት አስፈላጊ ነገሮች (እንጨት መሸከም) ሸክም ናቸው። ድሆች በመሠረታዊ ፍላጎቶቻቸውና በሚፈልጉት ነገር መካከል ምርጫ የማድረግን ችግር ያሳያል።
