ትርጉም

This proverb illustrates the confusion and embarrassment one feels when unknown people or those with no relation praise or approach them in an undeserved context. 'My mouth went 'daba daba'' means losing what to say due to confusion or feeling uncomfortable. It is used to describe the feeling of being praised or loved in a situation where one doesn't belong or doesn't deserve it.

ይህ ምሳሌ የማያውቁትን ወይም ምንም ግንኙነት የሌላቸውን ሰዎች በማይገባ ቦታ ሲያወድሷቸው ወይም ሲቀርቧቸው የሚያጋጥመውን ግራ መጋባትና እፍረት ያሳያል። 'አፌን ዳባ ዳባ አለኝ' ማለት ግራ በመጋባት ምክንያት ምን ማለት እንዳለባቸው ማጣት ወይም ምቾት አለመሰማት ማለት ነው። አንድ ሰው በማይገባው ቦታ ላይ ሆኖ ሲመሰገን ወይም ሲወደድ የሚሰማውን ስሜት ለመግለጽ ይጠቅማል።
