ይህ ምሳሌ የሁለት የማይቀየሩ እውነቶችን ያሳያል። 'ደግነት አይታረስ' ማለት ደግነት በጉልበት ወይም በግዳጅ ሊፈጠር የሚችል ነገር አይደለም፤ ከተፈጥሮ ወይም ከልብ የሚመጣ ነው ማለት ነው። 'ልጅነት አይመለስ' ደግሞ የጊዜን የማይቀለበስ ባህሪ ያሳያል፤ ያሳለፍነውን ጊዜ በተለይም የልጅነትን ጣፋጭ ጊዜ መልሰን ማግኘት አንችልም ማለት ነው። በአጠቃላይ፣ አንዳንድ ነገሮች ዋጋቸውና ባህሪያቸው የማይቀየር መሆኑንና ጊዜን በአግባቡ መጠቀም አስፈላጊ መሆኑን ያጎላል።
