ትርጉም

This proverb describes the shock, astonishment, or alarming situation that arises when something unexpected, unlikely, and out of the ordinary happens. By natural law, a cat is expected to kill a mouse, not vice versa. Therefore, it shows how surprising such an unusual event is.

ይህ ምሳሌ ያልተጠበቀ፣ የማይመስልና ከተለመደው ስርዓት የወጣ ነገር ሲከሰት የሚፈጠረውን ድንጋጤ፣ አግራሞት ወይም አስደንጋጭ ሁኔታ ይገልጻል። እንደ ተፈጥሮ ህግ ድመት አይጥን እንጂ አይጥ ድመትን መግደል አይጠበቅም። ስለዚህ ይህ ያልተለመደ ክስተት ምን ያህል አስገራሚ እንደሆነ ያሳያል።
