This proverb advises speaking carefully. It shows that once a word escapes the mouth, its consequences cannot be controlled, and the damage can be severe. 'When the head escapes' refers to whether one can escape harm or not.

ይህ ብሂል በጥንቃቄ መናገርን ይመክራል። አንድ ቃል ከአፍ ከወጣ በኋላ የሚያስከትለውን መዘዝ መቆጣጠር እንደማይቻልና ጉዳቱ የከፋ ሊሆን እንደሚችል ያሳያል። 'ራስ ሲመልጥ' ማለት ከጉዳት መትረፍ ወይም አለመዳን ማለት ነው።
