This proverb signifies that successors built upon and expanded the foundational work laid by their predecessors. Prophets paved the way or set the direction, and apostles then quickly moved forward along that path, accelerating and extending the work. ይህ ብሂል ቀደምት የሆኑ ሰዎች መሠረት የጣሉትን ሥራ፣ ተከታዮቻቸው አጠናክረውና አስፍተው እንዳስቀጠሉት ይገልጻል። ነቢያት መንገዱን ጠርገዋል፣ ሐዋርያት ደግሞ በዚያው መንገድ ላይ በፍጥነት ተጉዘው ስራውን አፋጥነዋል ማለት ነው።
