ትርጉም

This proverb is used to describe giving a large or disproportionate response to a small problem or occasion. A chicken's illness is a minor matter, yet slaughtering a sheep (a great sacrifice) is an excessive response. This illustrates when a person gives too much attention to a small thing, wastes a lot of effort or resources, or provides an overly grand solution for a minor problem.

ይህ ምሳሌ ለትንሽ ችግር ወይም አጋጣሚ ትልቅ ወይም ተመጣጣኝ ያልሆነ ምላሽ ሲሰጥ ለመግለጽ ያገለግላል። የዶሮ ህመም ትንሽ ጉዳይ ቢሆንም፣ በግ ማረድ (ትልቅ መስዋዕትነት) ከመጠን ያለፈ ምላሽ ነው። ይህም ማለት አንድ ሰው ለትንሽ ነገር በጣም ብዙ ትኩረት ሲሰጥ፣ ብዙ ጉልበት ወይም ንብረት ሲያባክን ወይም ለአነስተኛ ችግር ከመጠን በላይ የሆነ መፍትሄ ሲሰጥ ያሳያል።
