ትርጉም

This proverb compares two contradictory and ultimately self-defeating or hypocritical actions. Just as coughing while stealing makes one easily detectable, praying while holding a grudge renders the prayer meaningless and insincere in the eyes of faith. The proverb condemns hypocrisy and performing actions that undermine their own purpose or principles.

ትርጉም

ይህ ምሳሌ ሁለት ተቃራኒ እና ትርጉም የለሽ ድርጊቶችን ያነጻጽራል። ሳል እያለ መስረቅ በቀላሉ መጋለጥን እንደሚያመጣ ሁሉ፣ ቂም ይዞ መጸለይም ጸሎቱን ትርጉም የለሽና ውጫዊ ያደርገዋል። ምሳሌው ግብዝነትንና መሰረታዊ እሴቶችን የሚፃረሩ ድርጊቶችን ይኮንናል።
