This proverb highlights the importance and pleasantness of in-laws (wife's relatives). Just as a honey cake is sweet and desired, so too are a wife's relatives considered pleasant and beneficial if treated well.

ይህ ብሂል የባለቤት ዘመዶች አስፈላጊነትንና ጣፋጭነትን ያሳያል። ልክ የማር እንጎቻ ጣፋጭና ተፈላጊ እንደሆነ ሁሉ፣ የባለቤት ዘመዶችም በጥሩ ሁኔታ ከተያዙ ደስ የሚያሰኙና ጠቃሚ እንደሆኑ ይገልጻል።
