This proverb means that every person or entity has an inherent, intuitive understanding of their own nature, capabilities, and limitations. Just as a tree is rooted and knows its own strength and vulnerabilities, a person ultimately knows their true self, even if others may not. It speaks to self-awareness and inherent truth.
