'Amole' was a bar of salt used as currency in ancient times. A 'lucky amole' signifies unexpected good fortune or wealth. 'A sign of election' means it indicates being chosen or blessed by God. The proverb suggests that finding unexpected good fortune is a sign of divine favor or being chosen for something good.
