ይህ ምሳሌ ህግጋትን ወይም ወጎችን በራሱ ጥቅም መርጦ የሚጠብቅ፣ ሌሎችን ችላ የሚል ሰው ያመለክታል። ጥቅሙን (የጠጣር ምግብን) ይፈልጋል ነገር ግን ገደቦችን (ፈሳሹን) ያስወግዳል። ወጎችን ወይም ህግጋትን በመጠበቅ ረገድ ያለውን ግብዝነት ይገልጻል።
