It signifies the distinct roles of secular and spiritual authorities in life and death, and how each realm has its own set of obligations or dependencies.

በህይወት ያሉ ሰዎች ለዓለማዊ ገዢዎች ወይም ስልጣኖች ታዛዥ ናቸው (ግብር ይከፍላሉ)፣ ሙታን ደግሞ ለመንፈሳዊ መሪዎች (ካህናት) ይገብራሉ (ለነፍሳቸው ይጸለያል)። እያንዳንዱ የህይወት ክፍል የራሱ የሆነ የበላይ አካል እንዳለው ያሳያል።
