ሳይሰሙ ወሬ ሳይገሉ ጎፈሬ

Meaning

This proverb warns against jumping to conclusions, spreading unverified information, or claiming accomplishments that haven't been earned. 'Without hearing, a rumor' means don't spread gossip without confirming it. 'Without killing, a mane' refers to the act of taking credit or boasting about a difficult achievement (like taking a lion's mane, a symbol of valor) without actually having performed the deed. It advocates for truthfulness and not making baseless claims.
