Meaning

This proverb illustrates the contrasting mindsets and priorities of the rich and the poor. A wealthy person's thoughts are preoccupied with their assets, wealth accumulation, and financial matters. Conversely, a poor person is focused on the passage of time, counting their days, concerned with daily survival, and perhaps waiting for an improvement in their circumstances. ይህ ምሳሌ የሀብታም እና የድሀን የተለያየ የአስተሳሰብ እና የትኩረት አቅጣጫ ያሳያል። ሀብታሙ ሰው ስለ ንብረቱ እና ስለገንዘቡ ብዛትና መጨመር ሲያስብ፣ ድሀው ሰው ግን ስለሚኖረው ጊዜ፣ ስለሚያልፉት ቀናት እና ስለዕለት ተዕለት ኑሮው ብቻ ያስባል። ይህም ማለት የሀብታሙ ጭንቀት ቁሳዊ ነገር ሲሆን፣ የድሀው ግን በህይወት የመቆየት እና ጊዜን የማሳለፍ ነው።
