This proverb advises against entrusting important information (secrets) to unreliable or indiscreet people. Just as a torn bag cannot hold tiny teff grains, a frivolous person cannot keep a secret, and it will inevitably be spilled. ይህ ብሂል ጠቃሚ መረጃዎችን (ምስጢሮችን) ለአቅመ ቢስ ወይም ጨዋነት ለጎደላቸው ሰዎች ከመንገር ያስጠነቅቃል። የተቀደደ አቁማዳ ጥቃቅን ጤፍን መያዝ እንደማይችል ሁሉ፣ ጨዋነት የጎደለው ሰውም ምስጢርን መያዝ አይችልም፣ እናም የማይቀር ይፈሰሳል። ምስጢራዊነትን እና ታማኝ የሆኑ ምስጢር ጠባቂዎችን የመምረጥን አስፈላጊነት ያጎላል።
