ሀሰተኛ ሲናገር ይታወቃል በሶ ሲበሉት ያንቃል
✦
“A liar is known when he speaks, just as beso chokes when eaten.”
Meaning
This proverb compares the nature of a liar to beso, a roasted barley flour. Just as dry beso can choke or cause discomfort if not consumed properly, a liar's words are often inconsistent and reveal their untruthfulness. Although lies might seem easy to tell at first, in the end, they become burdensome and shameful, just like beso choking one's throat. It means that lies eventually come to light and cause problems for the liar, revealing their true nature.
