ጅራፍ መትቶ ያለቅሳል ባለጸጋ በድሎ ተመልሶ ይወቅሳል

Meaning

This proverb draws a parallel between a cruel and hypocritical whip and a wealthy person who commits an injustice. The whip 'cries' (makes a sound) after inflicting pain, implying a false show of remorse. Similarly, a rich person wrongs someone, then returns to blame the victim, shifting accountability and further oppressing them. It exposes hypocrisy and the abuse of power.
