Meaning

This proverb expresses the idea that the existence of bad or evil highlights and defines the importance and value of good. Without contrast, appreciation for what is good would diminish or be unrecognized. It is through experiencing hardship or witnessing evil that one truly understands the significance of kindness, peace, or righteousness.

ይህ ብሂል የመጥፎ ወይም የክፉ መኖር መልካምነትን አስፈላጊነት እና ዋጋ እንደሚያጎላ እና እንደሚገልጽ ሀሳብ ይገልጻል። ያለ ንጽጽር፣ ለጥሩ ነገር ያለው አድናቆት ይቀንሳል ወይም አይታወቅም። ችግርን በመለማመድ ወይም ክፋትን በመመልከት አንድ ሰው የደግነትን፣ የሰላምን ወይም የጽድቅን አስፈላጊነት በትክክል ይረዳል።
