እንጨት አይሸከሙ ላመድ አሮጊት አያገቡም ላትወልድ

Meaning

This proverb highlights the futility of engaging in actions that yield no benefit or produce the desired outcome. There's no point in carrying wood if it's only to produce ash (not fire), and similarly, there's no point in marrying an old woman who cannot bear children (if the primary purpose of marriage is procreation). It emphasizes practicality and purpose in one's endeavors.

ይህ ምሳሌ የሚያሳየው ጥቅም የሌለውን ወይም ፍሬ የማያፈራ ተግባር መፈጸም ትርጉም እንደሌለው ነው። እንጨት የሚሸከመው እሳት ለማግኘት ሲሆን፣ እሳት አምዶ ከሆነ ለምን እንጨት ይሸከማል? በተመሳሳይ፣ ሴት ልጅ የምታገባው ልጅ ለመውለድ ነውና ልጅ የማትወልድ አሮጊት ማግባት ትርጉም የለውም።
