መልከ ጥፏ ቆንጆዋን አስናቀች

Meaning

This proverb indicates that beauty alone is not enough. When a person described as ugly excels the beautiful one in other qualities or characteristics (e.g., work, intelligence, kindness), they can make the beautiful one jealous. It shows that inner beauty and personality are more valuable than external beauty.

ይህ ብሂል ውበት ብቻውን በቂ እንዳልሆነ ያመለክታል። መልከ ጥፉ ተብሎ የተገለጸው ሰው በሌላ ጥራት ወይም ባህሪ (ለምሳሌ በስራ፣ በብልህነት፣ በቸርነት) ከቆንጆዋ የተሻለ ሆኖ ሲገኝ፣ ቆንጆዋን ሊያስቀና ይችላል። ውስጣዊ ውበትና ስብዕና ከውጫዊ ውበት የበለጠ ዋጋ እንዳላቸው ያሳያል።
