ሽማግሌና ጅብ በላላባት ይገባል

Meaning

This proverb suggests that elders (with their wisdom and influence) can intervene in people's problems or conflicts where there is an opening or a lack of strictness, similar to how a hyena exploits any weakness or unguarded opportunity to enter. It speaks to seizing opportune moments, either for good (elders mediating) or for ill (hyena preying).
