“A 'salabi' (a skilled craftsman or one with specialized skills) entered a Buda's (evil-spirited person's) house.”
Meaning
In Ethiopian culture, a 'Buda' is believed to be a person possessed by an evil spirit that can harm or consume others. A 'salabi' can refer to a skilled builder, a strong worker, or a carpenter. This proverb suggests that one harmful or dangerous person has entered the domain or territory of another harmful or dangerous person. It implies that since both parties are inherently dangerous, conflict or trouble is likely to arise between them. Generally, it describes a situation where two strong or dangerous forces meet.
