ጅብ የማያውቁት አገር ሄዶ ቁርበት አንጥፉልኝ አለ
“The hyena went to a country it didn't know and said, 'Spread a hide for me!'”
Meaning
This proverb refers to someone who, upon arriving in an unfamiliar place or a place that isn't their own, makes an inappropriate or excessive demand. A hyena, by nature, doesn't need a 'hide' to sleep anywhere, and its request without knowing the local customs or culture shows arrogance or lack of sophistication. The proverb warns against lacking humility and discretion when in a new environment.
