ያልበላ ዳኛ አያሟግት ያልጠጣ እንግዳ አይጫወት

Meaning

This proverb illustrates that people cannot properly perform their expected duties if their basic needs (food, drink) are not met. A judge needs energy and focus to deliberate fairly; a guest needs a drink (hospitality) to be happy and engage. Therefore, it emphasizes the importance of meeting a person's basic needs to gain their productivity or participation.

ይህ ምሳሌ ሰዎች መሰረታዊ ፍላጎቶቻቸው (ምግብ፣ መጠጥ) ሳይሟሉላቸው የሚጠበቅባቸውን ተግባር በአግባቡ ማከናወን እንደማይችሉ ያሳያል። ዳኛ በአግባቡ ለመፍረድ ጉልበትና ትኩረት ያስፈልገዋል፤ እንግዳም ደስተኛ ሆኖ ለመጫወት መጠጥ (መስተንግዶ) ያስፈልገዋል። ስለዚህ፣ የአንድን ሰው ምርታማነት ወይም ተሳትፎ ለማግኘት፣ መሰረታዊ ፍላጎቶቹን ማሟላት አስፈላጊ መሆኑን ያጎላል።
