ቀን እስኪያልፍልሽ ያባትሽ ሎሌ ያግባሽ

Meaning

This proverb is said to a woman in despair. It suggests that when options run out or there is no promising prospect, one should accept the best (or even the worst) of the available options in their current situation and live with it. It means, 'Until time passes, even if nothing better comes, accept what you have and live.' It is often used to refer to women's despair regarding marriage choices.

ይህ ምሳሌ የሚነገረው በተስፋ መቁረጥ ውስጥ ላለች ሴት ነው። ምርጫዎች ሲያልቁ ወይም ተስፋ ሰጪ ነገር ሳይኖር ሲቀር፣ አሁን ባለችበት ሁኔታ ውስጥ ካሉ አማራጮች ውስጥ የተሻለውን ወይም የባሰውን ተቀብሎ መኖር እንደሚቻል ያመለክታል። ጊዜ እስኪያልፍ ድረስ የተሻለ ነገር ባይመጣም እንኳን፣ ያላችሁን ተቀብላችሁ ኑሩ የሚል ትርጉም አለው። ብዙ ጊዜ ለሴቶች በጋብቻ ምርጫቸው ላይ የተስፋ መቁረጥን ለማመልከት ያገለግላል።
