ይህ ምሳሌ አንድ ሰው ብዙ ጥረትና መስዋዕትነት ከፍሎ አንድ ነገር ለማግኘት ሲሞክር, በመጨረሻ ግን ያገኘውን ነገር ለማግኘት የከፈለው ዋጋ ያገኘውን ነገር የሚያክል ወይም ከሱም በላይ ሲሆን ያሳያል። ትርፍ የሌለው ወይም ራሱን የሚሽር ድካም ማለት ነው።
