ሲገደገድ ያልበጀው ሲወቀር እሳት ፈጀው

Meaning

This proverb is about the futility of trying to fix something beyond repair or using inappropriate, escalating methods. If gentle approaches like hammering failed, more aggressive ones like chiseling (which might involve heating, thus 'fire consumed') could completely destroy it. It means that persistent, misguided efforts can exacerbate a problem rather than solve it.
