ዱላን ይዞ ሌባን መጠየቅ

Meaning

This proverb means that it is futile or counterproductive to try and extract information or truth from someone (especially a wrongdoer) through intimidation or force (holding a stick). A thief, when confronted with a stick, is unlikely to tell the truth. It suggests that force often yields no honest answers or genuine solutions, and that a different approach is needed.

ይህ ምሳሌ የሚያመለክተው አንድን ሰው በኃይል ወይም በማስፈራራት መጠየቅ ምንም ትርጉም እንደሌለው ነው። ሌባን ዱላ ይዞ መጠየቅ ሌባው እውነቱን የመናገር ዕድሉ አነስተኛ ነው። ስውር ወይም የተደበቀ ነገርን በኃይል ማውጣት እንደማይቻል ያሳያል።
