የራስህን አትበላ ገንዘብ የለህ የሰው አትበላ ዐመል የለህ

Meaning

This proverb describes a dilemma where an individual is in a dire situation. They lack the means (money) to sustain themselves ('you don't eat your own'), and due to their character or societal norms ('you have no manners/character'), they cannot accept help or sustenance from others. It paints a picture of being stuck between a rock and a hard place, with no viable solution.

ይህ ምሳሌ አንድ ሰው እጅግ በጣም አስቸጋሪ በሆነ ሁኔታ ውስጥ ሲገኝ ያሳያል. የራሱን ለመብላት (ማለትም የራሱን ህይወት ለመምራት ወይም ራስን ለመመገብ) አቅም የሌለው በመሆኑ (ገንዘብ የለህም) እና የሌሎችን እርዳታ ለመቀበል ደግሞ በባህሪው የማይፈቅድለት ወይም ባህል የማያስችለው (ዐመል የለህም) በመሆኑ መውጫ መንገድ የሌለው መሆኑን ይገልጻል.
