ጸሀይ ካልወጣ ከሰፈረበት አይነሳ አንበጣ ሴት ምክንያት አታጣ
✦
“If the sun does not rise, the locust does not move from where it settled; a woman never lacks an excuse.”
Meaning
This proverb is a sexist one, implying that women are always capable of finding reasons or justifications for their actions or inactions, often to avoid blame or responsibility. It compares this to a locust's immobility until a specific external condition (sunrise) is met.
