This proverb suggests that while a spouse might divorce someone due to their difficult character or problems, one's parents (especially the mother, 'the one who bore you') cannot simply abandon them. It highlights that the burden of a child's inherent difficulties falls primarily on their parents, who are bound by blood, rather than on a spouse who can choose to leave.

ይህ ብሂል አንድ ሰው ከባድ ባህሪ ወይም ችግር ሲኖረው ከትዳር ጓደኛው ቢፋታም እንኳን ከወላጆቹ ሊለይ እንደማይችል ያሳያል። ስለዚህ የሰው ልጅ በጣም ከባድ ችግር ሲኖረው ከእሱ ጋር የሚታገሉት ወላጆቹ መሆናቸውን ያሳያል እንጂ የትዳር ጓደኛው አይደለም።
