ይህ ምሳሌ የመነሻን እና የስር መሰረትን አስፈላጊነት ያጎላል። አንድን ነገር ወይም ሰው ለመረዳት፣ የመጣበትን ቦታ ወይም ዳራ ማወቅ አስፈላጊ መሆኑን ያሳያል። ንጹህ ውሃ ከመነሻው እንደሚገኝ፣ አንድ ሰውም ማንነቱ ከስሩ እንደሚመነጭ ይገልጻል።
