ተናግሮ ከመጨነቅ የቀልቀሎዬን አፉን እንቅ

Meaning

This proverb advises careful thought before speaking. It suggests that it is better to control one's words initially than to worry about the consequences after they have been uttered. Just as plugging the mouth of a water pot prevents water from spilling, controlling one's tongue prevents unintended negative outcomes.

ትርጉም

ይህ ምሳሌ የሚያሳየው አንድ ሰው ከመናገሩ በፊት ሁለት ጊዜ ማሰብ እንዳለበት። አንዴ ከተናገረ በኋላ ሊያስከትል በሚችለው ችግር ከመጨነቅ ይልቅ መጀመሪያ አንደበቱን መቆጣጠር እንደሚሻል ይገልጻል። የቀልቀሎ አፍ እንደተሰካ ውሃ እንደማይፈስ ሁሉ፣ ንግግርም ከቁጥጥር ውጪ እንዳይሆን መቆጣጠር ያስፈልጋል።
