ሌባ ላመሉ ቅድመ እውቅና አገኘ

Meaning

This proverb illustrates that a person's reputation or name precedes them for their bad deeds. If a thief repeatedly steals, his name is already known as a 'thief'; it shows that people expect bad things from him. This means that a person is known by their repeated actions (especially bad actions), and what is expected of them is already known beforehand.

ትርጉም

ይህ ምሳሌ አንድ ሰው ለሚያደርገው መጥፎ ተግባር አስቀድሞ ስሙ ወይም ዝናው የሚቀድም መሆኑን ያሳያል። ሌባ በተደጋጋሚ ከሰረቀ፣ ስሙ ቀድሞውኑ 'ሌባ' ተብሎ ይታወቃል፤ ሰዎችም ከሱ መጥፎ ነገር እንደሚጠብቁ ያሳያል። ይህም ማለት አንድ ሰው በተደጋጋሚ በሚፈጽመው ተግባር (በተለይ መጥፎ ተግባር) የሚታወቅ መሆኑንና ከሱ ምን እንደሚጠበቅ ቀድሞውኑ የታወቀ መሆኑን ይገልጻል።
