ባጎረስሁኝ ጣቴን ተነከስኩኝ ባፍ ይጠፉ በለፈለፉ

Meaning

This proverb describes people who do not appreciate kindness or, worse, cause harm despite being shown goodness. When a person feeds another with a good heart, and that person (or animal) bites their finger, it shows they are undeserving. 'They perish by their mouths, by their babbling' further illustrates that people harm themselves by talking too much or saying unnecessary things. Overall, it shows that doing good for evil people and talking excessively leads to harm.

ትርጉም

ይህ ምሳሌ ለሰዎች መልካም በማድረግ በጎነትን ላለማድነቅ ወይም ይባስ ብሎ ጉዳት የሚያስከትሉ ሰዎችን ያሳያል። አንድ ሰው በመልካም ልብ ምግብ ሲያጎርስ፣ ያ ሰው (ወይም ያ እንስሳ) ጣቱን ቢነክሰው፣ ያው እንደማይገባቸው ያሳያል። 'ባፍ ይጠፉ በለፈለፉ' ደግሞ ሰዎች ከመጠን በላይ በማውራታቸው ወይም የማያስፈልግ ነገር በመናገራቸው ራሳቸውን እንደሚጎዱ ይገልጻል። በአጠቃላይ ለክፉ ሰዎች መልካም ማድረግ እና ከልክ በላይ ማውራት ጉዳት እንደሚያስከትል ያሳያል።
