የሚያጠግብ ቂጣ ከምጣዱ የሚወጣ ጥጃ ከገመዱ
“The satisfying bread from the griddle, the calf that comes out from its rope.”
Meaning
This proverb advises patience, suggesting that one should wait for the completion or full development of something before making judgments or assumptions. You can only truly assess the quality of bread once it's off the griddle and ready to eat, and the true nature of a calf once it's freed from its tether. It means that the real success, nature, or quality of a person or project can only be determined once it has fully emerged or finished its process.
