ይህ ምሳሌ የሚያመለክተው ዋናው ነገር ሳይኖር ወይም ሳይጠናቀቅ ለሁለተኛ ደረጃ ወይም ትንሽ ለሆነ ነገር መሯሯጥን ነው። ምጣድ ላይ ያለው ሊጥ (እንጀራ) ሳይጋገር እያለ፣ የእንቅብ ላይ ያለው (ለማቅረቢያነት የተዘጋጀ) ሊጥ ቢረዝም ምን ዋጋ አለው? ቅድሚያ ለሚሰጣቸው ነገሮች ትኩረት ሳይሰጡ ለሌሎች ነገሮች መጨነቅን ያሳያል።
