✦

“If the rooster crows, there is no night; after Buhe, there is no winter.”

Meaning

This proverb signifies that certain events are clear indicators of the end or beginning of other seasons or states. When the rooster crows, night is over; after Buhe (an Ethiopian holiday marking the end of winter), winter is over and spring begins. It emphasizes that there are clear signs and timings for the natural progression of events.
